About Us

Driven by a strong commitment to improve the very special long-term care needs of our American Veterans, Mr. Mike McBride, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. William S. Biggs, President, formed HMR Veterans Services, Inc. to focus solely on the management of State Veterans Homes. Over the past years, we have been dedicated to specifically serving the very special, long-term care needs of our American Veterans.

HMR Veterans Services, Inc., located in Anderson, SC, is contracted to maintain and operate State-owned Veterans’ nursing homes in South Carolina, Alabama and Maryland. Currently we are contracted to manage the daily operation of the Richard M. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, AL, which will open its doors in the summer or early fall of 2012.

The team approach of HMR Veterans Services, Inc. is designed to provide cost-effective services and a continuum of care that meets the spiritual, social, emotional, physical and rehabilitative needs of our nation’s Veterans. We are committed to providing a warm and stimulating environment that will enhance and improve our residents’ quality of life in their twilight years. We operate our Veterans’ homes to meet all State, Federal and Veterans Administration guidelines as well as all Medicare and Medicaid requirements.

Administrative, nursing, dietary, activities, maintenance, laundry / housekeeping and social services are included in the scope of services we provide to our Veterans, as well as ancillary services that include all the rehabilitative discipline therapies (i.e. Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy). Additionally, we also provide nursing, medical and incontinent supplies. We are also able to provide hospice care and services to residents and family members of our contracted facilities.

For those facilities not wishing to contract out the Total Management Option, HMR Veterans Services, Inc. is also able to provide consulting services in the areas of Management, Quality Assurance and Veterans Administration Survey preparedness.

We are humbly honored to continue caring for Veterans. The support we receive from caring individuals continues to make us a better provider for the veterans of our great nation!
